In December 2020 I jumped on a plane just before restrictions set in as I decided to accept an offer from my glassy friends in New Zealand to do a bit of teaching work in their hotglass studio in Rotorua. I shut down the studio doors and spent the Winter travelling around New Zealand, seeing my family and teaching leadlight, fused glass and glass painting at Amokura Glass Studios. What an amazing opportunity it was. I have come back to the UK studio filled with inspiration and am so looking forward to producing a new collection of work based on the beautiful landscapes of the Marlborough Sounds and the stunning geo-thermal area of Rotorua. I had a chance to play in the hotshop with Heather Kremen and all her amazing colleagues and am looking forward to returning to Amokura regularly in the future to offer annual workshops and collaborate in Heather's studio.
