Discover the art of creating stunning stained glass windows in this immersive two-day workshop.

Learn the fundamentals of stained glass in this two-day workshop, taught in my purpose-built garden studio near the Sussex coast. With only two participants per session, you’ll receive close, personalised tuition as we explore this beautiful heritage craft—one now listed as endangered in the UK.

Over the course of the weekend, you’ll be guided through the traditional leaded glass-making process: cutting glass, leading, soldering, cementing, and finishing. You'll work with a variety of coloured, patterned and textured glass to create your own 28 x 28 cm stained glass panel to take home.

Whether you're a complete beginner or have attended a course before and want to refresh or build on your skills, this relaxed and practical class will meet you at your level. You’ll also learn how to visualise and measure up future designs, with plenty of support throughout.

All tools, materials, and safety equipment are included—no hidden costs. The studio is a peaceful, inspiring space with good transport links, just 10 minutes from the Chichester Bypass and accessible by train.

Due to ongoing commissions and studio commitments, only a few summer places are available this year—and they book quickly. Follow-on private tuition and more advanced one-to-one days are available by arrangement.

If you have any mobility or accessibility needs, please get in touch when booking so I can ensure your comfort and safety in the studio environment.

  • Make a stained glass window using traditional techniques.   I will take you through all the processes needed to make a small stained glass panel from a selection of designs.

You will learn how to approach a design, measure, cut and handle glass safely.  You will then select your design choice, colours and cut your coloured glass to size ready to assemble using lead.  Once assembled, you will then solder, cement and prepare your panel for polishing.

I always keep my groups low with a maximum of 3 students, ensuring plenty of individual attention.

Attendance details will be sent to you once your booking has been confirmed.

If you cannot find a date to suit you please contact me and I will see if I can fit in any new dates or add you to my mailing list to keep you informed.
