Ammonite – A Journey in Glass Ammonite canvas wall art inspired by fossil spirals and ocean blues — a deep canvas print for coastal homes, nature lovers, and seaside retreats. Ammonites have long fascinated me — their spirals echo the hidden mathematics of nature. This artwork began as an experiment with recycled glass fragments from my studio, cast freely into a circular form. Guided by instinct, I arranged them into a spiral, echoing the ammonite forms I have always loved. Through the kiln, the piece transformed: fragments fused into fossil-like layers, and with the application of stained glass paint and a second firing, the ammonite form revealed itself more fully. Surrounded by a framework of circular glass — ocean blues, sea greens, and a froth of white — the ammonite appears to float, suspended in water, carrying both history and evolution within its form. There will only ever be one original, which was sold before I had the chance to fully appreciate it, and now rests in a window overlooking the English ocean. This deep canvas print allows the story to live on — a timeless homage to the ocean, to ancient forms, and to how creativity often evolves when we let nature guide the process.
