Learn the theory and basics of Traditional Glass Painting. Expect to produce 1 large coloured piece plus a variety of smaller practice pieces. Groups of only 3 on each course, giving you plenty of time for maximum attention.  This course is only run twice a year through the workshop and is a great introduction to this ancient art.   Tutor: Alison Smith

  • You don’t need to be an expert at drawing to be able to learn the basics of glass painting. No experience needed.  Our classes are kept small - no more then three students per class, giving you plenty of individual attention.    All tools and materials supplied.   This course will give you a good understanding of the processes used for centuries by stained glass artists to give an additional dimension to their work.Using traditional Reusche Glass Enamels You will learn how how to mix glass paints, apply matts, stippling, texture and create detailed line work using a mixture of tracing blacks and browns.Expect to create a number of test pieces and at least one larger piece from a selection of designs to incorporate all techniques learned.

     

    PLEASE NOTE: This course is not suitable if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

     

    Courses are held in my new private garden studio in Bognor Regis.  Located in a beautiful, peaceful and flower filled setting, you will be surrounded by inspiration.   Attendance details will be sent to you once your booking has been confirmed.  

     

    What to wear -Trousers, flat covered shoes, and layers - temperatures can vary in the studio and if the kilns are on, it can get quite warm.

     

    What to bring - If you require glasses for close up work please bring them.   • We have a high demand for our courses and keep our classes very small.   Full payment is expected to secure your booking, however should you need to cancel our refund policy is as follows.   

     

    10 weeks prior to commencement we will offer a full refund, 6 weeks prior to commencement - 50% refund.  For all courses cancelled within 6 weeks of commencement we cannot issue a refund unless we can fill your course space.  You can, if you wish transfer your course to another individual.
