Come and join me on this one day workshop. You will work with me in a relaxed one to one session and have a day in the studio getting into some creativity and learning a new skill.
Learn the theory and basics of Glass fusing, how to cut, layer and arrange different grades of glass to produce one large piece or several smaller ones. Groups are small with a selection of one to one and two to one workshops being held in my garden studio in Bognor Regis. Located in a beautiful, peaceful and flower filled setting, you will be surrounded by inspiration. Many of my students return regularly for studio days and follow on courses. Tutor: Jan Simpson
17 May 2021 - Fused glass for beginners
Join me for a relaxed but structured workshop giving you the freedom to work on a design of your choice. No previous experience needed and through 2021 all classes will be tiny! One to one or two to one classes in the studio. Everything you need is supplied and you can have a great day making a piece to remember.
You will learn how to handle and cut glass safely, and gain a basic understanding of the processes used for glass fusing.
Using a mixture of Frit, Stringers and Coloured glass you will design and make a single or several pieces of your choice with guidance from your tutor.
Enjoy playing with some of my studio glass handmade pieces to give your work some unique originality.
Attendance details will be sent to you once your booking has been confirmed.

What to wear -Trousers, flat covered shoes, and layers - temperatures can vary in the studio and if the kilns are on, it can get quite warm.What to bring - If you require glasses for close up work please bring them.
It is advisable that you bring a packed lunch as often, people get too involved to take a full break, however there are supermarkets a two minute drive away should you want to pop out and grab something.
Payment for courses is due on booking. - We cannot make exceptions to this rule as we have a high demand for spaces and therefore cannot hold spaces that are not paid for.

Children over the age of 15 are welcome but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We all know that Covid has affected our ability to make and keep plans, so with this in mind, our cancellation policy for 2021 is as follows:
If a course is cancelled due to changes in regulations we can either readjust your date as soon as restrictions are lifted, or we can offer you a full refund.
If you need to cancel your course for any other reason we can refund on the following basis:
Up to two weeks before the course date - 70% refund
Up to one week before the course date – 50% refund
Less then seven days before the course date – no refund will be given, but I can reassign your course to a friend or, in the case of illness, look to re-arrange your date subject to studio and course availability.
If we have to cancel on you : this hardly ever happens, but if it does I will give you a minimum 24 hours notice, offer you a transfer date, a full refund or a course/online shop voucher to be used at another time whichever suits you the best.
